I need help to create an auto-generated Item number depending on the type of product it is.

Dear Members,

I need help to create an auto-generated Item number depending on the type of product it is.

For Example If

Syringe belongs to Medical Device Category. So when i create Item name SYRINGE, then the item number must be (MD0001)

Glevic 400Mg belongs to Pharmaceutical Category. So when i create item name GLEVIC 400mg, then the item number must be (PH0001)

Protein Tablet 500Mg belongs to Health Product. So when i create item name PROTEIN TABLET 500MG, Then item number must be (HP0001)

I tried using option of sub item of and linking it to the item number Field (Customization),  but could not get the desired result.
