trend graph from custom KPI with period range

Hi Gurus,

I have created a custom KPI via a saved search which uses period date range and want to load this into a trend graph.

When I try to create the trend graph for the custom KPI, it is unable to pull the custom KPI or saved search. I made sure I added a period filter in the saved search. The KPI I created for this also has the 'use periods' ticked.

Is there a way a trend graph can show as by period instead of months? We use 445 calendar format and therefore need the trend graphs and other portlets to be in periods rather than months.
