Forecast consumption on demand planning with forecasts

Load demand plan lines for sales by month. Run supply plan based on forecasts and order to determine what to order.

Create work orders based on demand plan with date on work order to create.

Use consumption on the forecasts for component items

Is there any way to have the consumption look at request date or will it always look to order date to determine the purchase of the component items for assembly. I don't see any options but SO may be for shipment date 20 days after the SO date.

Are there any workarounds or anything so that inventory is not held so long?
