Custom Field for Customer Statements

I want to show our customers the created from field on our statements. They know our sales order reference as we issue it to them

I created a custom transaction body field.

Free Text

Do not store value.

Formular - {createdfrom}

BUT when i do not store value - the "print on statements" checkbox becomes greyed out.

I searched suite answers with no success. Any ideas?
