Proper way to use Subsidiary Hierarchy Manager to add a new root subsidiary in a different currency

My client has a current sub structure of a parent, 2 children and an elimination sub all in CAD. They wanted to run reports in USD, so as a workaround to Full Multibooks, I was brought in to update the sub structure by adding a new parent consolidating entity in USD, so that reports would show USD. I updated the sub structure using the subsidiary hierarchy tool, but now when i try to run native reports, i get an error. custom reports seem to work, but also return an error when i attempt to view them with the new US
