What would be the criteria to let me know to which table the entity field number is referencing?

When I get some transaction records, they do have an entity field number, however many of the entity numbers do NOT seem to be found in the customer table - could they belong to some other table such as vendors or others?


What would be the criteria to let me know to which table the entity field number is referencing?


Is there a list of the various tables the entity field number might be referencing?
