Average Cost Field

Hello all,

In the item record, there is an average cost field (Field ID averagecost). We don't use this currently but for most items this is updating automatically.


The help section explains that this calculated during a period, but wanted to check what they class as a period. Is it a financial period, Quarterly etc.
