How to script inbound shipment item using 2.1 API

I'm trying to create an inbound shipment via script using the 2.1 API.

I'm setting the 'shipmentitem' field on the 'items' line using the item's Internal ID.

When I commit the line, I receive this error 'Please enter value(s) for: Item'.

What field do I need to set, in order for it to recognize that I've set an item?
