How to auto-fill sales order department from drop down list based on customer?

I would like to know how or if it is possible to auto fill the department drop down menu based on the customer on a sales order transaction. For example, if I select customer 408 as pictured below, I would like it to auto fill the division(department) field with ILEC which is located within the drop down menu under that field.

We have renamed our department to division.
