Vendor Return Authorization Document Number is too long(24 digit number)

We are using auto-generated number for Vendor Return Authorization and Return Authorization.

Recently new generated RMA number jumped from14 digit number(27014207418008) to 24 digit number(227014207250919903854771 ).

Can you please advise what's the best way to lessen the RMA number?
