Restricting Classes Based On Form

We use Classes quite alot to categorise certain records. Is there a way to limit the list of classes? So for example if i were entering a time entry, only show 2 items in the class list (Shift, TOIL) if its a sales order show 3 items in the class list (New Business, Existing Business, Other).
