Changing general ledger account currency

Hi, I am hoping there is an answer other than creating a new GL account. I originally created a GL account for insurance related financing. I set the account up as USD, but now we have decided to finance our insurance policies in our Canadian subsidiary. I don't seem to be able to change the account from USD to accept CAD. Is there a way to do this or am I stuck with creating another account?
