Is it possible to append an email to a custom transaction field as well as the To be emailed field?

Every time a specific 3rd party sales rep is selected (custom field) we need to append that reps email address in another custom transaction field (Sales order confirmation email) as well as the To be emailed field under the comunication tab. Is it possible to do this with a workflow?
