Breaking down Kit in a report

We are using a modified version of the customer sales by item in an attempt to understand how much product we have shipped/billed to a particular customer as well as the last date first/last date it was shipped to that customer. Last year, we sold some of our items in a Kit. Is there a way to break out the contents of the kit, rather than display the kit as the sale? I.e. some of the individual items were sold outside of the Kit and I would like to see an aggregate of the individual items rather than the kit
