New to NetSuite | Amortization Template 103: Amortization Term Source
Now that you've gained a clearer grasp of various amortization methods from the previous article, we can move on to discuss Amortization Term Source. The Amortization Term Source controls how the amortization period is determined, from either the transaction date or the receipt date.
When creating Amortization Template, you can select either the Transaction Date or Receipt Date as Term Source:
Term Source: Transaction Date
This sources the date specified in the originating transaction, such as a vendor bill.
For instance, consider a bill with an item linked to a template where the 'Term Source' is set to 'Transaction Date':
