What is the difference between activity codes and project tasks?

Hi There

I am trying to understand what the purpose of the activity code feature is in relation to projects?

The NetSuite help talks about how it is used o categorise activities in relation to a project.

If that is the case, wouldn't that mean activity codes serves the same function as project tasks?

What would be an example of a scenario where you would use an activity code as opposed to a project task?

where can I find the differences between the two in terms of features and limiations?
