Difference between Document Number and Transaction Number in Netsuite

Hi,

I have a user ask me, what is difference between document number and transaction number ?

because both can be override, can be used for audit matters as well.

if document number can be duplicated, what is the purpose ? for audit things, it should be unique so it will easy to control the document.
