Functionality of "Check here if you have Pick/Pack/Ship enabled..." in Netsuite Connector

I have what is ending up being a relatively complex issue to solve. We are using Netsuite Connector to import orders from Shopify, et al., and we are using it to send those orders to Shipstation for fulfillment, and then, NSC gets data back from Shipstation and fulfills the item in NS. This is generally working great. We have lot numbered items, and this, too, is working well. However…, when it comes to Kits with lot-numbered items, this does not work.

The only way we can clear a fulfillment from NSC is to create an Item Fulfillment on the Sales Order so that we can assign the lot numbers to that layered detail, and then we have to push that all the way through PPS to Ship. Which causes NSC to close the order without providing NS with the shipping details (tracking number, cost, etc.) Which then has to be manually copied and pasted to NS and the sales channels because it seems to break the workflow.
