How can I determine if a Sales Order or Item Fulfillment is associated with drop shipping?

I have a workflow that sends a notification when the inventory is empty in Item Fulfillment. However, sometimes when I process a drop shipment, I still receive the notification.

My question is: How can I determine if a Sales Order or Item Fulfillment is associated with drop shipping?
