Effects of Removing Quantity Pricing on an Item for Existing Sales Order

Hi! I have an existing Sales Order in Pending Approval status with an item that has Quantity Pricing applied. I then removed the Quantity Pricing from the item record and proceeded to approve the Sales Order. I noticed that the item price was revalidated and updated.

Is this the standard behavior? Does editing or approving an existing Sales Order trigger a revalidation of the item price? Is there a documentation in SuiteAnswers?
