New to NetSuite | Advanced Taxes: Canada Tax Lookup – Scenarios Part 4
In our previous discussion, we examined a scenario where the transaction nexus is not associated with the Canada subsidiary, but the address is located within Canada. In this article, we will discuss a scenario where both the transaction nexus is not associated with the Canada subsidiary and the address is located outside Canada.
The setup for the Customer record’s Financial tab remains unchanged:
- Tax Item = null
- PST Exempt = False
In this scenario, the system determines the appropriate tax by searching, in order, for:
- Tax Code for Exports; if none
- Default Tax Code
For our demonstration, we'll use two items in the transaction: one with a taxable schedule and the other with a non-taxable schedule.
