Update a single PO transaction line from the related single SO transaction line

I have a suitescript that happily updates transaction body fields from a PO back to the Sales order that created it. Does anyone know of a way(or point me in the direction of some info as my searches are not helping) where I can basically copy a field value from a linked line back and forth? For example, if I update the quantity on the sales order it updates the PO and vice versa. Can I get other fields to do the same? This would be a custom field containing reference number. Is there anything
