Creating Projects via Workflow Action Script on Sales Order Approval - Impact on Standard Behavior?
Hi Experts,
I’m looking for some guidance and validation around automating project creation from Sales Orders via scripting.
Current Standard Behavior
In standard NetSuite functionality, we can create project records using the “Create Projects from Sales Transactions” page.
From this page:
- The system lists Sales Order line items that are pending project creation.
- We can select the applicable lines.
- Upon clicking Create Projects, NetSuite:
- Creates Project records.
- Links the created Project to the respective Sales Order line (at line level).
- Ensures proper association between the transaction line and the project for downstream processing (e.g., billing, revenue recognition, reporting).
