Best practice pattern for owner of automations

We are new to NetSuite. As we and our implementation partner develops scripts and other customizations in Sandbox, the question has arisen of who should own those artifacts in Production? Tagging them to particular users - particularly when the user might eventually change roles or leave the organization - seems unwise. Is there a recommended best practice pattern for user and role ownership of "system-wide" automations in NetSuite?
