Present transaction latest file attachment URL in custom field

I have created a custom field under the communications tab under files.
When you attach multiple file attachments, i want to get the latest file attachment url and populate this into the custom field.

Has anyone done this?

ive tried various scripting codes to get the latest attachment. But always getting hit with 0 count and no attachment found.

Is the field ID to file attachments mediaitems? is this the place the script should be looking.
