Workflow based on item purchase price

Hi all,

   I have want to write a workflow that will check a purchase order line by line to see that the current purchase price has not increased by more than 2% from the last purchase price, the value that is saved in the item master.  If it has it must email a manager.

   To test the formula I created a saved search and got a working formula.  In the saved searches area, I can open the item fields … in the drop down box.  However where I try to re-create the formula in a work flow there is now way for me to link back to the item fields like there is in the saved searches. :h_a_w:
