MRP (Material Requirements Planning) for NetSuite
The standard modules in NS (like Demand Planning) aren't sophisticated enough for some scenarios (like Work Orders, Transfer Orders, Multi-level Assemblies, Forecasting, One World Account, etc). And demand planning is $$$$. So I just built out a portlet view that compiles all relevant transactions and calculates a running balance.
The portlet runs server side, and presents the user a full MRP report for all kinds of transactions. All records are hyperlinked to launch in a new tab, and the whole MRP report runs in less than 1 minute for 3,000 items on 7,000 transaction lines.
