Save Sales Order or Purchase Order as a draft

Several people in my company have asked about a "Save as Draft" feature.  For example they are entering a large SO or PO and do not have all the information just yet to submit the order.  I have not found any features that allow a user to save as a draft, I am curious if others have had this request or have found a way around this?
