How to know that a Milestone has been Invoiced?

When using Fixed Bid, Milestone Billing with Advanced Projects, is there a way to test that the Milestone has been invoiced?

We strictly adhere to requiring that the Milestone is "Completed" before it can be billed.  But I can't seem to identify a way to know that a Completed milestone HAS been billed. 

I assume I could create a custom "Billed" field on the Project Task record, with a button that the A/R clerk must remember to click when the Milestone is Invoiced.  But this really seems a waste, when the system should know the Milestone Project Task has been Billed via the Bill Schedule.
