Maximum Entries in search field

We have a rather complex search set up using a custom record. We recently added some items to a field that is a list. That list gets populated onto the custom record, and anything going into that record must have a corresponding entry in the list.

Previous to adding the items to the list, the search showed every record present in the list. Now, it gives us the option to segment the list.

What is the maximum number of entries we can have in such a list to have it show us every record on the list to select for our search?
