Best Practice - Customer numbering
Currently we have not enabled auto-generated numbers for customers. This decision was made a while ago after we saw how these appeared on forms( eg. sales orders, picking and packing slips, emails to customers). As our customer database has grown, this is not becoming a problem when entering sales orders in netsuite and creating customer records via xml. We now have to append incrementing numbers to a customer name if the name already exists. The web store will automatically add a number to the name.
This is starting to look just as bad as having auto numbering turned on. ( eg John Doe 1, John Doe 2, John doe 3 etc....)
