Best Practices - sending Press Releases

hello all,

i want to send out press releases and get the benefits of sending a campaign. (the opened stats and click thru stats)  my issue is that my press releases are in .pdf format and the campaign templates won't upload a .pdf.  is my only option to make an html of my press releases?  or is there some other way to send a pdf or other formated text (i don't want to send plain text) to my contacts in netsuite and get statistics?
