Opportunities - Actual Close date Amend?

Hi,

    Does anyone know if there is a way to amend the actual close date on an opportunity?  It is defaulted to the date the opportunity status is changed to 'Closed-won'/'Closed lost' etc.  
    We currently have a user retrospectively entering closed opportunities, which all end up with the wrong 'actual close date'.

     I've looked into exporting & re-importing the data, but 'Actual close date' doesn't appear on the mapping for opportunities.
