How to Control Who Can See Vendors

Wondering if anybody has found a way to control who can see specific vendors. Lets say I have Roles A and B and Vendors 1, 2, 3, 4. I want Role A to see only Vendors 1 and 3 and Role B to see only Vendors 2 and 4?

How can this be done? If only I could assign a Class value to the Vendor this would be easy.
