Customer ID vs. Customer Name
We offer a service to our customers very similar to the way a standard credit cards works, except for B2B customer. Including the issuance of a 16 digit numeric customer account number (e.g; 5717345689391234).
We would love to use this account number (generated by our production system) as the customer ID in netsuite. It seems to intuitively be the right way to do it. And we would use the customer name filed for their name (e.g; ACME Industries).
Problem is for the leads and prospects in NetSuite who aren't yet customers, we don't have a number yet. And we can't let NetSuite generate it in advance (via a script) because it has special CRC rules (the individual digits always add up to the same number), so our production system needs to generate it downstream.
