Exporting Records - CSV vs MS Excel Benchmark

For what it's worth.  Just did an export of case records:

43,252 records, all fields

Download File Size for MS Excel:  373 MB

Download File Size for CSV-Export: 55 MB

Difference between the two:
Absolutely nothing except that the MS Excel provides a default font and size and a stylized header.

Both open in Excel without issue (though I did get a warning in the Excel download file that said could not translate "Table" but it opened anyway).
