Security - Giving Third Party Vendors Admin Access

We've started looking at third party apps that integrate with Netsuite. It seems many of them require (or as least request) "Admin" access to our account. This is obviously a concern brought up by the head of IT.

We started by asking each third party vendor what specific permissions they require to accommodate their app. But as the number of third party vendors increase we need to continuously add licenses simply for the use of integration. It doesn't seem reasonable to add licenses as a means to maintain our security - this is something we obviously want to avoid.

Has anyone encountered this issue? Ideas?
