Contact Management
I'd like to know the best way to track contact history in NetSuite and make it searchable. Currently, our sales team prefers to put "No Longer Here" next to the contact name, then check the Left Company check box. However, they add a duplicate contact for that person if they moved on to another company. I feel that it gets very confusing and that there has to be a better way to track contacts comings and goings.
My suggestion was to add a Former Company field below the Company field. That way, if a contact has changed companies, the old company name will be moved to the Former Company field, and then the contact will be associated with the new company.
