Using Opportunites for Forecast by Product

edited Dec 6, 2019 2:35PM in General

Hi all

I am looking at a way to use NetSuite (JCurve Australian edition) to allow us to forecast to a product & sales rep level. We are a wine wholesaler, so sell to retailers (bottleshops, restaurants etc). Once we get distribution with a customer, they will just order each week, fortnight etc, depending on their need. So using opportunities as NetSuite intends (ie forecast by customer, status of the opportunity etc) doesn't work for us.

I am thinking about setting up a dummy 'Forecast Customer', then getting our sales managers/reps to create an opportunity against that customer with a close date of each month, to give us an idea of their forecast by item for each month. This would be useful for us in demand planning which we have to do external to JCurve, as well as reporting for the sales team (actuals versus forecasts each month I hope??). I assume at the end of each month we could just close that month's opportunities and not worry about any impacts from them carrying into future

Howdy, Stranger!
