Lead Conversion to Existing Customers

Hi there,
I was wondering if anyone has the same issue with the Lead Source Analysis Report Detail showing Leads that have been converted into existing customers as Closed-Won customers. Our CMO indicates that this is misleading, even though the name of the lead indicates Originating Lead.

Should leads that come in from shows or whatever campaign that are tied to an existing client be converted? What is your process for this?
