Workflow to automatically create a Return Authorization

This almost seems to easy, but for some reason I can't find any way to get this done.  It doesn't have to be a workflow, if there's another way to do this, I'm all ears!

We have certain inventory where we create a return (like an advance exchange warranty program) once the Sales Order has been processed via the "Authorize Return" button.  I'd like to be able to somehow have this done automatically so my people do not have to go back to the Sales Order and click the button.

Ideas?
