Postage for T-shirt orders

When we get a t-shirt order, I take it to the post office and pay to ship it out of petty cash.  When I get back, I record the "check" in NS and first posted it to Inventory thinking it would be added to the cost of the t-shirt so we'd know what our true profit was.  Then, I realized those charges to Inventory are going to sit in that account because they're not being pulled out when the shirt ships from inventory.  So, I started charging the postage to COGS - Apparel.  Now, I'm thinking that is not correct
