Trade In Credit - Item Type?
Our company acts as a reseller of product. In some cases our customers trade in equipment to receive a credit on newly purchased items. What I am looking for is the best practice of how a Trade In Credit should be setup?
What Item Type should we use? The credit comes from our vendor and we extend it to our customer. The credit needs to show up on our Purchase Order to the vendor as well as the invoice to the customer.
The way we have it setup currently as an Inventory Item, when we go to approve the Sales Order and the Purchase Order is created, we get a notification stating "An Inventory Item must have a positive amount."
