Speeding up Item & Category setup

Hi

I have dozens of Items & Catgeories partially configfured.

I need to go back and upload the thumbnail and detail images as well as the Metatags (which are currently all blank - our web developer seemed to suggest they should be partially configured).

Many of the items and some categories are sharing the same images.

The basic meta tag text is the same and needs just the keywords adding.

Is there any way to speed up and semi-automate this process?

I have checked and images and meta tags do not seem accessible via mass updates of the items.

Also it does not look like they can be direct edited in the list view of the items.
