Constant Lock-ups and Time-outs in NetSuite

We have had countless lock-ups or time-outs when we type a name or item or location in a "search" field and hit tab.  This happens several times per day for each of our 10 users that work in the system.  It will often happen half-way through a large PO, an inventory adjustment, or in the middle of a sales order when we have a customer on the phone and we have no choice but to close the browser or refresh the screen - then we lose all the work we did and have to start over.

I have had each of the users clearing the IE cache daily and rebooting daily, but the problem has not gotten any better.
