Financial reports time out

I am trying to run a financial statement filter = department A and co. set to Period.  Every time I run the report it times out.  When I save the report and run it in the background i get the report but the col. by period gets lost.  Basically there is no way i can pull this report!

What is worse i have several open cases about not being able to pull financial reports and all i get is the run around.

I know this is more or a gripe then a help question but i needed something else to do while i hit refresh on my report with the hope that one time server load will be low and I will get my report before 8:30 pm!
