Bulk merge emails not emailing?

Each night we email customers having an "occasion date" for today to follow up on their order and solicit a testimonial.  For the past 3 weeks or so our response witih testimonials has slowed to a trickle.  Tonight I including my own email address in a group of 16 and did the bulk merge an hour and a half ago and still no email to me.  I'm thinking the emails are not going out - is there any way to check this and/or is anyone else experiencing this too?
