Error processing dynamic tag: Unknown method

Does anyone know what this error means and why I am seeing it on my hosted page when implementing <%=getSiteNavigationHTML()%> ?

[Error processing dynamic tag getSiteNavigationHTML() : Unknown method getSiteNavigationHTML()]

I am using other dynamic tags in the site such as <%=getPageTop()%> which is working correctly.
