Problem with drop down lists!!!locking up!!!

Is anyone else have trouble w/ this?
Why is it happening?
it 6:30 pm & I have 10 SO on my desk That need to  be entered pronto!

PROBLEM:
In a sales order I try and pick customer address / ship via/ payment method
drop down list don't work!
then they lock up on the screen, and won't go away until i get out of the SO.

what is going on!!!
