Error connecting to sandbox server via odbc

I can connect to the production server via ODBC without a problem, but when I try connecting to the sandbox server: odbcserver.sandbox.netsuite.com I get a connection error:

RDA error: Connection establishment error - Sever is down or running a different port or Incorrect IP address. 

I have had the network group verify that the firewall port is open .  Another person is getting the same error and stated that they have connected to the sandbox in the past. 

Any ideas on what the problem is? I opened a case up on this: 817102, but no one has gotten back to me.
